Description
This is a portrait of Caril Fugate, taken from a photograph after her arrest in 1958.
Fugate is the youngest female in United States history to have been tried and convicted of first-degree murder. She was just 14 when she and her boyfriend Charles Starkweather were arrested for killing 11 people on a murder spree. Caril eventually got parole and still lives in the US. She has yet, however, to be pardoned. The case has inspired films such as Badlands with Sissy Spacek and Martin Sheen, and also Kalifornia and Natural Born Killers. This was part of the Raw Art True Crime series, which is … still being added to.
