Yellow roses

October yellow roses, already crisping up at the edges as they were a few weeks old when painted. The flower heads started to sink; but as they did so the colour didn’t fade, it deepened to warmer oranges and pinks. Lots of impasto on this one, the texture trying to give an impression of that “green” smell rose leaves have as they age. Texture = smell. Right.
