Kim II (After Gauguin)

£85.00

20 x 20 cm on canvas board. Matt emulsion.

Description

Kim and Kim and a plate of red lollipops. Kim I gazes at the viewer, aloof and strong. The plate is full to bursting. Kim II looks at the plate. It is ripe with candies. Succulent fruits, in traditional painting so symbolic of youth and beauty, have morphed into a snack; an advert. A diet aid that threatens to make your belly – plump and round as it should be – flat.

This is painted in household matt emulsion and is part of the Kim series. It is after Gaugin’s Two Tahitian Women.
